About Dr Samuel Lam & John A. McCurdy, Jr., the Authors of “Cosmetic Surgery of the Asian Face”;
Dr. Samuel Lam is a double board-certified facial plastic surgeon and a board-certified hair restoration surgeon. He graduated Valedictorian from Cistercian Preparatory School and with honors from Princeton University and Baylor College of Medicine. He completed his head & neck surgery residency at Columbia University and his fellowship in facial plastic surgery thereafter. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery.

Dr Samuel Lam has authored five major medical textbooks, “Comprehensive Facial Rejuvenation”, “Cosmetic Surgery of the Asian Face”, “Complementary Fat Grafting”, “Simplified Facial Rejuvenation”, and “Aging Face: The New Paradigm” along with over 150 book chapters and scientific papers.
Dr. McCurdy has practiced cosmetic surgery in Honolulu since 1979 and is an internationally recognized authority in surgery of the Asian patient, having published numerous scientific articles and books and lectured widely on this topic. John A. McCurdy, Jr., MD is certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic Surgery, the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery and the American Board of Otolaryngology/Head and Neck Surgery. Dr. McCurdy has received special recognition for his expertise in surgery for the Asian patient and is the author of the acclaimed medical textbook Cosmetic Surgery of the Asian Face. He is also a FDA approved investigator for silicone and saline breast implants.
